I only use natural fibres when knitting, as unlike acrylics or synthetics, natural fibres work with your bodies natural cooling and heating system. Icelandic wool consists of fine soft highly insulating inner fibres and long glossy, water repellent outer fibres, together they create a wool that is lightweight, water repellent and breathable, keeping you warm, dry and comfortable. Icelandic sheep are subject to some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world and have very little interference from humans for most of the year. BFL wool comes from the Blue Faced Leicester sheep, a British breed known for its soft, lustrous and strong fibre, valued for its durability, beautiful drape and excellent dye-absorption, BFL wool is a favourite for next-to-skin garments
