Antique Japanese Kusakizome Fabric Scarf
This lightweight, brightly patterned linen scarf, has been made from antique Japanese woven Kusakizome fabric, which was originally used for making kimonos. The beautiful orange and yellow colours were produced by botanical dying known as Kusakizome. The ends have been hand hemmed.
Please note - this is antique fabric... but is in amazing condition with no marks, discolouration or fading.
Length approx: 110 cm X 36.5 cm / 43" X 14+1/4".

Care: Hand wash in cool water separately from other items.
Kusakizome - fabrics dyed with plant juices extracted from flowers, leaves, stems and roots. Lye and alum are used as mordants. The dyeing method of Kusakizome was practiced in Japan until around 1925.
